Kiddos can start as early as 6 months old, but MUST be able to sit up independently for 1 minute BEFORE they can start. Kiddos need to be able to use their core muscles to roll into a float.

No. As an ISR Instructor, the program is for 6 months – 6 years old, but I teach children of all ages including adults.

All lesson fees are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your session for any reason, your account will be credited and can be used for a future session.

If you miss a class, we will simply continue progress the next day. If you are sick, please do NOT come to class. If you miss longer than a week due to illness, I will work with you on a solution to make up the lost time.

Please look far into the future when planning your time spot. If you will be out of town for any planned vacations, please wait until you can be in the Monterey area for the full 6 weeks. Makeup lessons will NOT be offered if you are missing class due to a planned vacation/event.

Yes, each child will need their own time slot. ISR lessons are one-on-one lessons with only your child and the instructor in the water. Each lesson is fully customized for each child.

Here is the registration process:

1. Read through all the information on this website.
2. When you are ready to register, go to ISR Monterey Bay Registration System to sign up.

Cost is $1,500 per ISR session per child. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your time spot. The remaining lesson fees will be paid PRIOR to the start of lessons.

The lesson fee covers up to 30 ISR lessons or until your kiddo completes the course, whichever comes first. If your child requires more than 30 lessons you will be charged at a rate of $250 per week. Most kiddos finish in 6 weeks (30 continuous lessons Monday-Friday), but I ask families to commit to 7 weeks in case of sickness or pool closures. 

Cost is $750 per ISR refresher session per child. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your time spot. The remaining lesson fees will be paid PRIOR to the start of lessons.

The lesson fee covers up to 15 ISR lessons or until your kiddo completes the course, whichever comes first. If your child requires more than 15 lessons you will be charged at a rate of $250 per week.

When schedules open they tend to fill VERY quickly! Once you go through the process of selecting a slot you will need to secure it within 24 hours with a $350/student non-refundable, non-transferable deposit via Venmo.

3. About 4 weeks prior to lessons, you will receive a link to register your child with ISR (This is a one-time $105 fee for new students, $40 annual fee for returning students) as well as a link to your Parent Resource Handbook + various start docs from your instructor.
4. Please read through and complete the Adobe Form document prior to the start of lessons. This form will have information regarding location and your child’s lessons.
5. Pay the remaining lesson fees. The remaining lesson fees will be due BEFORE lessons begin.

ISR Monterey Bay does NOT have a waitlist. If a spot opens up in a session, it will be offered to the families who are CURRENTLY signed up for a session. The instructor will email all families on the schedule with a specific release date/time for the spot and it will be on a first come first serve basis.

Yes! ISR Monterey Bay offers strokes lessons and adult lessons. Please contact Kerri ([email protected]) before signing up for lessons. 

Stroke lessons are for children who are 6 years or older. Students must show they have mastered the “swim-float-swim sequence” AND demonstrate they are water safe BEFORE moving on to stroke lessons.  Students will be introduced to three basic swim strokes, diving and swimming down to retrieve toys and snorkeling. Stroke lessons are $50 per 20-minute lesson. 

Adult lessons are for adults who are beginners or people who want to gain confidence in the water. Adult lessons are $50 per 20-minute lesson.
